Hooray for sunshine!!

What a glorious day we have had here.  We have had an eventful weekend!

The weather was very changeable yesterday and we spent it
cleaning(oh yes the joys of toddlers!) and I spent it doing some last minute things for the swap box I had.

I took from it...

and have made the following to put in...

a shabby chic Journal

Japanese Geisha canvases

Chalk-cloth bag with chalk, markers and a notebook.

and a toadstool reversible smocket in linen and red and white spot with matching clippies-modeled by Bella.

Saturday night was Maddie's first big night out, which she seemed to enjoy.  She got passed around and plenty of attention, and even managed to stay awake on the drive home from Mangere to the North Shore.
Today we have spent the day washing summer clothes(ever hopeful!!) and some time together as a family.

Bella adores her little sister and loves to spend time with her.  The feeling is a mutual one as Maddie is constantly scanning the room for her sister, and giggles with delight at her.

Here they are playing teaparties...of course you need to strip off to play this game, according to Miss Bella!

Tonight is the first night of daylight savings and both girls are fast asleep...let's hope that they stay that way!

Jani has been working this weekend, so we have had a quiet one at home. I have been busy planning what I need to make before Christmas and have started some projects while the girls were asleep(Bella thinks she is the most wonderful helper otherwise!)

Have been stocking up on lots of crafting goodies too over the last few days to keep myself busy over the next few months!

Here are the fabrics I got today from Spotty...

Here are a few of the girls in handmade things from this weekend.

Firstly Miss M in her Bloom knitted in Bendigo 4ply, made by my MIL...

and Bella in her Korkers for dancing...

Some dishcloths I have crocheted...

A chalk-cloth bag with chalk and duster inside

Another summery smocket for Bella...this time with snapped straps so it is adjustable.

and lastly two Japanese inspired Canvases

September 2010

I can't believe how fast the year is flying by!  Before you know it, Christmas will be here.
The weather has been horrendous...some sunshine would be lovely!  Have been trying to find activities to keep little Miss 2 entertained.
Our local Westfield's Mall had an ice-skating rink installed. While shopping Bella had commented several times that she would like to try it, but it was always full of teenagers.  So we went back with Luke and Zach(after playgroup) to check it out. Jani came down to watch her too, and after I did a few laps with her, he had a turn too.

Father's Day was spent doing something fun as a family!  We were going to travel over the bridge and into Auckland to do something as a family, but they had closed the Newmarket viaduct that weekend, so we decided a day in Devonport was in order.  Firstly we had lunch at the Stone Oven Bakery and Cafe, then a look through the quaint shops that Devonport has to offer, followed by a play on the beach.
Our best baby purchase this time round with a reflux baby is Maddie's glider swing, which we put her down to sleep in, as a last resort, during the day.

I have been making a few bits and bobs lately...will post some more photos.  Have been shocking at taking photos of things I make for swaps!!  Here is a simple smocket I made for Bella.  It is a toddler size 2.  It is the easiest thing I have ever sewn.  Plan on making her a few for daycare next year.

And here is our little Maddie, in her bear hoodie...blowing raspberries...

                                                                  and all smiles.

There is a terrible storm blowing tonight, so will add more piccies and blogs tomorrow!

Welcome to our Blog!

Have been meaning to set up a blog since Bella was a wee newborn, and let's just say it has taken a while!  Another daughter later, and here we are!
The girls are growing fast...Bella is now 27 months old, and Maddie is 3 and half months old.  Life is busy, but it keeps us out of trouble.

Here are family photos taken in May of this year....

The month of August was a fun one for us. I have been busy crafting for various swaps and for us.  We have been busy with all our weekly activities that Bella enjoys (and let's face it, I don't mind or we would not be doing it!).

Bella has dancing on a Monday, which is always entertaining to watch.  20-25 two-year-olds and two teachers.  Very cute, but organised chaos.  She has her dance concert in November which should be entertaining!!  She loves her tap shoes the most(we have to hide them at home or she would wear them all day, every day.
Maddie tags along for the ride...she loves the music!  She is two months old.  A pretty cruisey baby except for her reflux.

We wanted to get some photos of the girls together...it was so hard.  You can probably guess who was the hardest to photograph!!

On Wednesday we go to our local playgroup where Bella gets to play with her friends who include: Luke, Zach, Zaria, Selena and Lucy.  This month they had McDonald's farm come to visit and Bella had fun feeding a kid, riding a pony and petting all the animals.  She loved the pony and kept wanting to brush it.  I can only imagine in 8 or 10 years time what she will be asking her Daddy for!!
