Bella loves animals, and after watching an episode of Charlie and Lola she wanted to see a guinea pig in real life. So we thought we would visit the ducks at the Pumphouse in Takapuna and then go to Animates pet shop to look at the guinea pigs and see if they have any in.
Foolish me thought Bella could handle the short trip to the car and back from the lake, so just put Maddie in the buggy, and Bella walked. The way down was easy...all down hill. There were lots of other parents and toddlers doing the same thing. We were using the crusts from the fairy bread we took for playgroup. The ducks and pigeons thought that they were pretty good. They were so tame they stood on your feet...mental note to not wear jandals down there next time.

Of course Bella decided that her legs were much too tired to climb the hill so I was left dodging duck poo while pushing a buggy and carrying a 2 1/2 year old. Thank goodness for shoulders. Next time the Manduca will be put in the buggy for the extra load.
Then it was off to the pet shop. I have to admit it has been a while since we have visited a pet shop, mainly due to the fact that we no longer have a pet. Bella love it...they had puppies, kittens and lop bunnies in. No guinea pigs, but they had been long forgotten!
